Call for Papers
We welcome proposals for paper presentations and posters discussing research in relation to any areas that fit within the theme of the Conference: "Learning and teaching of Han characters”.
 
Deadline for submission of abstract proposals: 20 Jul 2011
 
Types of sessions
  1. Individual papers: 20 minutes for the presentation, 20 minutes for questions (total 40 minutes)
    • Presentation language: Mother tongue
    • Presenters have to prepare ppt with two languages (either ‘Chinese + English’ OR ‘Chinese + Korean’
    • Questions & Answers: Mother tongue with limited translation service
  2. Poster presentations (including a 5 minute oral presentation): The size of a poster display board is 6 ft high and 3 ft wide (H180cm x W90cm)

  • Text should be written either in Chinese or English with 500 words maximum (including the title and references)
  • Please fill in the Form of Abstract Proposal and return it to the appropriate organization not later than 20 Jul 2011.

  • For participants from Korea, please submit your abstract proposal to Dr. Heo Chul, The Korea Society of Education in Chinese Characters and Classics via email (kseccc@gmail.com).
  • For participants from Mainland China, please submit your abstract proposal to Ms. Liu Liquan, Ethnic Chinese Classic Texts and Characters Research Centre, Beijing Normal University, PRC via email (liulq1101@163.com)。

Note:
  • All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously.
  • Each individual paper and poster will be rated by at least two reviewers.
  • All full papers (word limit: 8000), which could be written in Chinese, English, Korean or Japanese, will be considered to compile into a conference proceeding after reviewing by the Conference Review Committee. It is, however, entirely optional to choose to submit full paper or not. The deadline for the full paper submission is 30 Sep 2011.
